This is Now!

What a difference 50 years makes. Seven new cranes now dot the skyline as Denver enters the next building boom. Be a part of it, live it, love it!
Denver in the '60s
We just love old photos of Denver. We were stumbling around www.skyscraperpage.com earlier today, looking for good, juicy development rumors and came across the great photo below. Follow this link, though, and you can zoom way, way (way!) in.

Happy Birthday 16th Street Mall

The 16th Street Mall turns 30 this month! The mall running 1.25 miles long from Union Station to Broadway is the number one tourist attraction in Denver. Over 300 stores, 50 restaurants, the mall shuttle and interesting street performers have always made this a fun attraction. Now that it’s turning the big 3-0, join the Downtown Denver Partnership, the Denver Business Improvement District, the City and County of Denver and RTD for a special ceremony. Tomorrow, October 9th from 11:30-12:15 there will be an event celebrating the mall. Stop by and join in the fun at Skyline Park on 16th and Arapahoe.
Architecture + Design Film Series: Denver

Adding to our post down below about the film "Modern Tide," the Architecture + Design Film Series is currently at the Denver FilmCenter. It's hosted and created by Design OnScreen, a local non-profit dedicated to producing and sharing films about architecture + design; and we want to see everything.
Coming up on the line-up: "The Pruitt-Igoe Myth," about the failed St. Louis public housing project that is often blamed for the "death of modernism" & "Detropia," about the rise, fall and subsequent slow rebirth of Detroit. So many great films, so little time. See the line-up and buy tickets here, and if you're a Denver Film Society member, there are awesome VIP packages for sale as well.
