Five Questions, One Broker: Lindsay McBride

Lindsay McBride, Broker Associate at Slifer — Denver

Name one thing we might not know about you.

I’m a mom! My husband and I adopted a baby boy at birth in November of last year. Our long journey to parenthood ended with 2 ½ weeks notice before Wesley was born. It was crazy trying to prepare for a baby in such a short period of time and figure out how to hand off my business for a few months. My Slifer Team was incredible and took great care of my clients while I was out. Wesley is such a happy little guy and lights up the room with his smile. I’m loving being his mom and can’t believe he is almost a year old!

Local Insider: What are you currently inspired by in downtown Denver?

I’m inspired by what a cool city Denver is turning into.  Growing up in the Denver area, the nation looked at us like a small cow town. Today it’s one of the nation’s hotspots and everyone wants to live here. Our food scene is incredible, new buildings are popping up everywhere, and our economy is strong. Denver is a vibrant city and has so much to offer. I love that I’m a native and have seen the transformation of our city take place.

What’s the best new restaurant/brewery/bar you’ve tried lately?

I really like Hearth and Dram in Union Station. It’s so fun to see all the great new bars and restaurants and what a cool neighborhood Union Station is becoming. Hearth and Dram has some delicious food and fun drinks. I also love 10 Barrel in RiNo for a new brewpub. They have an awesome rooftop, tasty beers and really yummy food. I would check it out for happy hour before fall is over!

Tell us about a recent or upcoming adventure.

For our first adventure with our son, we decided to do a quick trip to the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs this summer. We wanted to stay close to home in case it was a disaster with Wesley. We had the best time and didn’t feel like we were only an hour away from home. I never go to Colorado Springs and forgot how many cool things there are to do there. We went to the Royal Gorge, climbed the Manitou Springs Incline, fed the giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and spent time at the beautiful resort. It was a perfect little get away over the summer.

What’s your go-to spot in Denver?

My absolute favorite restaurant is Izakaya Den. Sushi is always top on my list when we go out to eat and I love the food and ambiance of Izakaya Den. We prefer to sit upstairs at the bar because the service is great and we meet fun people!
